I have started each of these devices and bypassed the check it would normally do with Nook. Without doing this you think it can't connect to the wifi. In case anyone else needs to do this, its when you are at the page after selecting English language, press and hold the upper right hand button and swip from left to right along the top of the screen, to show a hidden Factory button, press it.
