The NeoPixel Shield has 40 RGB LEDs arranged in a 5x8 matrix. Each pixel can be controlled individually. Only one pin of the Arduino / Genuino is required for control. If you want to operate all LEDs at full power, the use of an external power supply is recommended. To do this, you can solder the enclosed connection terminal to the shield and connect the power supply directly. If you need more LEDs, you can add more NeoPixel Shields. To do this, all you have to do is connect the din connections to DOUT on the first shield and ensure the power supply. Any number of shields can be connected in this way. When used with an Arduino / Genuino UNO, however, the number is limited to 5 shields due to the limited work memory. More information, libraries and code examples can be found on the Adafrui.
