When you apply a drop of Glucose Control solution to the test strip according to the same procedure as whole blood, glucose in the control solution reacts with chemicals in the test strip. The result displayed on the meter should fall within the expected range printed on the test strip container label. Obtaining a single result within the expected range is sufficient to verify system performance.
