The Battle of Zenta, fought on September 11, 1697, was a decisive victory for the Habsburg Imperial forces under Prince Eugene of Savoy against the Ottoman Empire during the Great Turkish War. The Imperial forces annihilated a large portion of the Ottoman army that had not yet crossed the river, inflicting an estimated 30,000 casualties while suffering minimal losses themselves.
