Specimen marble Obelisk with inlaid large panel of Bluejohn. veneered black marble, probably Ashford marble on a stepped base. very good specimen of Bluejohn and a rare large item. good condition, minor wear, small 'fleabites' marks. some natural flaws and inclusions in the bluejohn and minor pits in places. Feint natural fissure or crack to veneer on reverse to black marble (common to find in black pietra dura objects probably made during manufacture) good shine polish and overall sheen.
