Legendary Helios 44 Lens This particular lens has been made by the KMZ Factory Plant , the serial number suggests pre 1970s production which makes it one of the earlier models or as people call V1. This lens has been outfitted with a PL mount and a 77mm front which allows you to mount filters as well as light matte boxes with 80mm diameter. The external condition of the lens is really good , no major marks , certainly excellent for its age. Optically the lens is also very good , no scratches , coating issues or fungus. The focus operates smoothly , but has some dampening to it. The aperture is very smooth and well controlled unlike most Helios lenses which are a bit loose for my liking The aperture blades are dry.
