Antique Victorian christening gown, which has been produced from white cotton which has extensive broderie anglaise to the bodice and skirt. The gown has a "V"shaped panel of floral embroidered whitework to the bodice which is edged with matching trim. The skirt of the gown has a deep inverted "V" panel, which has matching embroidered whitework detail. The gown fastens to the back via cord ties to the waist and neck. AGE - Victorian, circa 1880's. MEASUREMENTS - Gown Chest = 18" (under bodice/arms) Sleeve= 3" (shoulder to cuff) Length= 41" (shoulder to hem) CONDITION - The gown is in fair condition for age, although there is a small rust type spot to the waistline, plus the skirt has several fraying holes to the back, plus there are several areas with faint brown marks. There are some loose threads to the embroidery.
