The 16 I/Os are accessible via two 16-pin connectors. Communication between Raspberry Pi and the Adafruit GPIO Bonnet is via the I2C bus. In addition, the chip has two interrupt inputs. The two enclosed IDC sockets can be soldered on by you if necessary.
