This mic clip was the 1st generation model 300 clip. Pic # 2 is from an old catalog I have showing the clip being used with an E.V 666 model mic. You'll see in pic # 6 that there is a lever that slides downward allowing the upper clip to open slightly making it easier for you to slide the mic in.
