Antique Spancer Barrett & Co. London Sextant 19th Century Maritime Navigation instrument. There is a serial number 282 on the box dating this instrument roughly between 1840-1870 but probably closer to 1850s. The box shows some wear. The lock mechanism has been broken and removed at some point. One of the latches is missing the eye hook. The instrument is made of solid brass and shows significant patina all over. The numbers and lines on the arc show lots of wear and are hard to see in most areas. All the filters and glass are intact and in good condition. The main mirror shows some internal lines.
