Magnificent Demijohn/Dame Jeanne/carboy with unusual rim pattern Hand-blown Demi-john in Jade Green but like so many things, they are becoming harder to find. This one is a jade green in a tear drop shape, it has a round fat middle and the top, which has been sliced off in the traditional way, has a nicely applied drip catcher. This ‘demi-john' was hand blown and is seamless. Age can be determined by the bottle’s surface. Eighteenth- and nineteenth-century examples will have necks with jagged tops, which were caused when the blowing pipe was separated from the bottle after blowing Approx measurements: H.35cm W.25cm
