An antique Hopf 4/4 violin made in Germany at the turn of the 1900's stamped on the back with the makers mark and changed to 'HOPE' (see close-up) around WW1. The body looks in good shape with no signs of splits or repairs and the sound bar is in tact. The end button will need replacing but won't take much else to get this fine instrument playing again. The label inside is not easily photographed but says - Copy of Antonious Stradiuarius. Made in Germany. Comes with contemporary wooden 'coffin' case which is sound but it in need of a little tlc.
