More on that in a second. The 418 model stand was originally intended to be used with certain E.V models such as the 636, 911, 611, 911 and 950 as well as the 1960's era 644 & 664 model mic. The base is quite heavy though and makes an excellent platform for top heavy mics or mics that are angles farther outwards.
