A small piece of plastic from the top of the battery case has broken off (see photos); a reshaped paperclip has been inserted into the case in such a way that the hatch can be closed over the batteries and Furby can be used (without the paperclip keeping the hatch lid in place, it can't fully close/push down on the batteries, rendering the Furby unusable.).
