This original antique map of Staffordshire is from the 1700s, circa 1637 and is a rare and beautiful find by the cartographer William Kip. It is a county map and is hand-coloured and framed, making it a very unique and valuable piece for collectors of antique maps. The frame measures approximately 16in x 12.5in. A decorative early 17th Century map of Staffordshire which was engraved by William Kip and published in William Camden’s Britannia* (London: 1607-1637). This map was based on the improved version of Saxton’s map by William Smith who added additional place names and boundaries.
