Canon EOS EF-S 17-85mm. Well regarded Canon EF-S wide zoom seen as the ideal upgrade from the popular (but limited) 18-55 models. The aperture blades are nice and snappy, with no drag or catch. The focus and zoom, in both manual and auto modes, is smooth and light.
