In the case of tuned engines, a sports coupling is extremely important, since the deposits of the original coupling in particular are far too soft and "crumple" under high loads, which means that the clutch no longer really applies, which in turn leads to loss of performance. As a special highlight, the spring tension on the back of the coupling can be changed without expansion. So only the bell has to be removed to "coordinate" the clutch. (See Figure 3.
