The USB adapter (included) gives you a USB port to connect to, then the LAN Ethernet Adapter gives you the ability to hard wire your internet to the stick. The most common cause is that the Ethernet cable was connected after the Amazon Fire TV was powered on and the Wifi may be trying to connect.
