The hd170a converts the hdmi cable interface to a dual cat 5/6 cable format. It can support up to 1080p with a maximum distance of 100 feet on cat 5 and 150 feet on cat 6. Plus the device includes spectrum's signature diagnostic system to visually verify the entire hdmi data communication from source to sink (display).
