It can be found in the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang and Gili Dasami in central Indonesia. This carnivore feeds mainly on carrion but can kill prey. The bite of the Komodo Dragon is poisonous, the bacteria present on their teeth and their saliva are very effective in obtaining food.
