A Stanley Bailey No 5 jack plane. This is a type 9 from the early 1900s, bearing two patent dates behind the frog. The plane has been disassembled, cleaned and oiled. Handles are lovely, the front looks as if it has a partial split but it feels perfectly solid. Both have been rubbed down and waxed. The japanning is original with no sign of touch ups. The cutter has good length left, is in good shape, and bears a stamp that corresponds to the same manufacturing era as the plane (it came with it, indicating minimal use since over 100 years ago).
