A hand coloured stipple engraving by Thomas Gaugain from the "Cries of London" set, originally painted by Francis Wheatley and exhibited between 1792 and 1795. Shortly afterwards, thirteen of the fourteen paintings were engraved and issued as individual plates. This is plate 13 of 13, titled "Turnips and Carrots Ho". Published by Colnaghi & Co in 1797. Mounted on card. Unframed. In good condition with some slight yellowing to the paper. Dimensions: 34 x 44 cm
