In Farpoint you're not supposed to be on the surface of an alien world. You're supposed to be on a space station, out to record an anomalous wave of radiation that seems to have no source. But when things go wrong and your space station is knocked out of orbit, you find yourself doing all sorts of things that you're not supposed to.
