Bundle of vintage piano wire, made by Bruntons, Scotland. This is Tartan Label and according to the wrapper is Number 18 gauge ( approx 1.21mm diameter). I believe 2 of the reels are 18 gauge but the other two reels look to be smaller gauge, but I'm not sure. The total weight is 580g (1 Lb, 4.5oz) across the 4 reels. Bruntons were a well known wire maker who specialised in Piano Wire, although they no longer make it now due to a decline in demand. My Dad had Piano's and repaired them too, I found these reels tucked away in a drawer in his shed while clearing it after he sadly passed away. He had many piano repairing bits and pieces which I will list separately. It would be nice to fine them a new home where they could be used.
