The larger toenail clippers open up unusually wide - they spring open to about 16mm, more than double standard toenail clippers, and more than enough for any clipping you can imagine. The smaller fingernail clipper is pretty standard in size, and has a catcher for the clippings, you can clip your nails and not have them flying around or falling, just empty it out after you have cut your nails.
