Antique c1820s Georgian Bristol Blue Blown Glass Pedestal Eye Bath Wash Cup

The underside bears the scar of a snapped and polished out pontil rod—typical of free-blown glass from the Regency period—and shows slight wear appropriate to two centuries of handling. Bristol blue colouring, achieved with cobalt oxide, was prized for both aesthetic appeal and its reputed ability to shield light-sensitive preparations; eye baths in this hue are less common than clear examples.
