This lens does work. I tested it in fairly grey and gloomy conditions, and couldn't see much effect from the fungus. I think in the right kind of lighting it might cause problems however. Especially the fungus right at the front of the lens which I think might cause a bit of haziness/misting if the lens is used without a hood.
