As such, this lens cannot autofocus on Nikon bodies that do not contain their own focus motor. AF and MF both work normally. The zoom and focus rings are smooth. The VR works normally. For a first version 80-400mm VR Nikon lens, this is in quite reasonable condition, but does show clear signs of use.
