The shims are placed under the locking nut and can be stacked if required (e.g. a 0.1 mm and a 0.3 mm to get 0.4 mm), there is a cut out to ensure the shim fits around the nut mounting screws and they also fits under Floyd Rose Original and Schaller double locking tremolos.
