It has the original saw marks on the back side, and the top has been sanded very finely, and finished in a water resistant* high gloss coating. Stand is perfect for a shohin or even slightly larger size tree, and is very fine, so perfect for bringing along to a show or competition. *water resistant: it can get wet, and your tree can even be watered while on the stand, but you don’t not want to leave it outside permanently.
