Loosely based on Rapunzel in the collection of folktales by the Brothers Grimm, it was directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard and written by Dan Fogelman. She accepts the aid of an intruder, the outlaw Flynn Rider, to take her out into the world which she has never seen.
