Entitled “La Loge Rotie” or “The Roasted Box” a satirical depiction of a crowded theatrical experience. The performance is of an opera called ‘Fernand Cortez, ou La conquête du Mexique’, Hernán Cortés, or The Conquest of Mexico, by Gaspare Spontini, first performed in 1809. The print is 310mm x 260mm Its condition is typical for its age with folds and general wear. Please study the images carefully before buying. The print is in a gold frame, overall size 365mm x 310mm. No returns will be accepted. It was bought in 1985 as part of a private collection of historical and political cartoons.
