Early EN Welch Cottage Drop Octagon School House Time And Strike Wall Clock

This is an early 8 day EN Welch drop octagon clock with a signed time and strike movement. Cosmetically the clock is in nice condition. It’s probably an 1870’s clock finished in Rosewood and cross banded in mahogany. There are a few bumps and scratches, and the bezel is a little sloppy, but overall it’s very good. Mechanically the clock is mostly untested. It was wound and the springs hold. When the pendulum is shifted the gear train escapes, and when the hands are cycled it chimes. It wasn’t hung and the last service is unknown. It’s being sold complete and as found. This is a nice price for a clock of this era and condition. If you like this early American style, don’t miss this one!
