An antique wooden hat block used in millinery for shaping the crown of a hat. Hat making materials like felt or straw were steamed and stretched over this form to create the hat's shape. Constructed from solid wood and an unusual shape, possibly to form a flat cap or beret. It has 3 holes in the bottom to fit on a stand. It has a diameter of 25cm and is approximately 12cm tall. Solid and heavy but with plenty of signs of age and use amd lots of original pin holes. Please check out my other listings, new items added regularly. Follow me to be alerted to new listings.
