The natural materials which are included are nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. When water is added to the fibres, straight away, it swells to form an insulation blanket or barrier. Once this barrier is created with that water, the slug climbs onto the fibres, it causes irritation to its foot and causes it to find an alternative area for feeding.
