1897 "SS Gaelic" Japanese Postcard-In 1902 brought 1st Korean Immigrants to USA

Japanese 3 Sen pre-stamped green card written January 8, 1897 in Hyōgo (Kobe) Japan. On August 14, 1896, the S.S. Gaelic grounded at Shimonoseki, Japan and had to be towed to Nagasaki for repairs. The Gaelic is historically noted for transporting the first 102 Korean immigrants to the United States, leaving Nagasaki, Japan on December 29, 1902 and arriving with them in Honolulu, Hawaii on 13 January 1903.
