Antique Victorian Oak Tobacco Stand (Smoker’s Companion Or pipe Stand)

This lovely example of a Smoker’s companion or Pipe stand was designed to hold various smoking accessories and would typically be placed next to a chair. The different compartments and holders served purposes such as: • Central lidded container: for storing tobacco. • Cylindrical/hexagonal holders: for pipes, cigars, or matches. • Small holes in the curved rack: usually for holding individual pipes upright. • Flat tray surface: for placing ashtrays, lighters, or other accessories. These were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, especially in gentlemen’s clubs and smoking rooms, as they kept everything neatly organized in one place. Antique but in good condition.
