This charming original French porte-manteau hat and coat rack is probably from the early 1950s but could be slightly earlier with a hint of art deco. The mirror is incredibly foxed and the silvering on the back is very worn, but this gives the most wonderful aged effect, which is entirely natural, though it is such a popular finish that many interior designers fake the effect.
