Box is opened. Speed tested with the original cable - advertised speeds confirmed. Can't access SMART data as some versions doesn't post it, but tested with the available Windows tools - all tests shows no warnings or errors. The drive is a customers return, for the reason they couldn't start it - upon checking the drive wasn't initialized which has to be done for first time use hard drives - Initialized it, formatted it to exFat to ensure compatibility with both Win and Mac and it's perfectly good to go. If you're planning to use it on Mac - best to format it to APFS file system to ensure the best performance. For Windows you can keep is as it is - exFat, or if you prefer use NTFS.
