Not long after recording his third album, Jim Croce played at Northwestern State University’s Prather Coliseum in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on 20th September 1973. An hour after the end of the concert, Croce and his guitarist and friend Maury Muehleisen boarded a light aircraft to take them to Sherman, Texas for a concert at Austin College.
