This is a very grand chess board with great detail and design. Its Mahogany and copper/ brass design make this a staple piece in any room. Being 10cm high makes it hold a different presence then just an ordinary chess board. The condition is not great but it adds to the petunia of the set. I’m not sure on the age but some research I did showed it could date into the 19th Century. The chess pieces are a different set from the original but hold there weight as they are a beautiful set of Mary Queen of Scots Brass pieces. There is some corrosion as you can see but it’s not excessive or on everything. Original sold for €300. You can either separate them or keep them together regardless each piece stands on its own two feet when it comes to class.
