The hoses are manufactured from cotton reinforced rubber and are of very good quality. Like any product made of rubber, and especially those exposed to the harsh conditions of heat, oil and dirt found in an engine bay they can be prone to deterioration which can result in cracks and splits in the rubber with the resultant water leaks and engine overheating that follow.
