It is currently housed in the Diocesan Museum in Cosenza, Italy. The cross also contains sacred relics within it. The late Gothic pedestal, in gilded silver, upon which the Stauroteca rests, was crafted by a Spanish goldsmith between the late 1400s and the early 1500s.
