Above the hinge which bisects the top of the pipe bowl chamber is an engraving "W.C. from A.H". The holder has no decoration. It has a small lion passant on the loop, a partial set of marks on the interior of the hinged section, while the main section has all four marks: the maker's mark for Jane Brownett, the lion passant, the Leopard's head for London, and the date letter for 1891.
