Provenance: A print taken from the Black and White Budget, a short-lived periodical published between 1899 and 1905. The Black and White Budget was a smaller format publication that heavily featured the Boer War in its earlier years and struggled to find an identity in an already over-crowded market place dominated by the Illustrated London News.
