The race into space (English: Space Race) began with the first artificial satellite (Sputnik 1), which the Soviet Union successfully sent into space. Over the years, further technologies have been researched on both sides and new records have been set up. Samples on the moon, Venus and Mars were collected, manned missions were carried out in the low oral orbit and finally the manned moon landing was carried out. USA's moon landing in 1969 is often seen as the end of the Space Race. But other voices call the 1975 Apollo-Sojus project, which was carried out in cooperation between the Soviet Union and the USA, as an end point. The decay of the Soviet Union is also considered the final event for the race into space. Regardless of which time now marks the end, Vostok Europe has incorporated man.
