Handtke, Friedrich 1815 - 1879. Bolívar led a great uprising in the north, then led his army southward towards Lima, the capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru. He organized a fleet to reach Peru by sea, and sought the military support of various rebels from the Vice-royalty of Peru.
