Here we have a super looking Antique Victorian Cookie or Biscuit Jar for you,this was produced by John Grinsell & Sons around the 1880s-1890s period,the Biscuit Jar has a kind of Oriental Theme with the Cross Bamboo style Handle,the Mountings are Hammered Silver Plated but with a Gold Colour on the top and around the Rim,the Glass Base has been Hand Blown and has an attractive Dimple style to it,although originaly produced as a Biscuit Jar this would be great for Jam or Clotted Cream for the Summer Months,condition is very good being free from damage and the mountings are still tight fitting,the Jar measures 12.5cms or about 4 3/4 inches across and stands5cms or 2 1/4 inches in height with the handle down,
