This mobile rig was primarily made for testing high-pressure hydraulic equipment on aircraft. I think it originally came from Westlands in Yeovil so was probably used on helicopters. It has a powerful three phase 400 V electric motor driving an hydraulic pump Which is fed with hydraulic oil from its own reservoir. I assume that it was used for operating hydraulic rams and motors under pressure To test their operation and check for leaks. I assume it could be adapted to permanently drive an hydraulic machine such as a ramp, press, log splitter or some such item. The rig would need to be safety checked with whatever that involves.
