One small, complicated machine, the TransfeRobot, lubricates 200 clock assemblies as they pass on a conveyor belt at a clock factory. The automated machine oils eight bearings in one second. The robot's manufacturer, John I. Snyder Jr., says such machines "are obsoleting not only our conventional machines, but modern man as well.".
